IB Middle Years Programme · Grades 6–10

The MYP years decide how easy the Diploma feels.

MYP 1–5 is where the maths foundation is built — or quietly cracked. Quazar gives every MYP student a specialist tutor, one-on-one, across all four strands, with the IB Diploma already in view.

The four MYP maths strands

Our free diagnostic scores your child on each one, so support targets exactly the strand that needs it — not a generic re-teach.

Number

Fractions, indices, standard form and the fluency everything else depends on.

Algebra

Manipulation, solving and patterns — the single biggest predictor of later success.

Geometry & Trigonometry

Shape, space, angles and the first steps into trigonometry.

Statistics & Probability

Handling data, averages, spread and chance with real understanding.

Built around the MYP criteria

MYP maths is assessed on four criteria — not just right answers. We coach all four, so grades reflect real understanding.

A

Knowing & understanding

Applying the right concepts and procedures accurately.

B

Investigating patterns

Spotting structure, generalising, and justifying findings.

C

Communicating

Clear mathematical reasoning, notation and presentation.

D

Applying maths in real-life contexts

Modelling real situations and reflecting on the results.

From MYP 5 into the Diploma

MYP 5 (Grade 10) is the run-up to the biggest step in school maths. Students who arrive in the Diploma with secure MYP foundations choose between Math AA and AI from strength — and spend the Diploma getting ahead, not catching up.

What Students & Parents Say

From our community

C to A in math

"My son had a C in math and was really struggling with confidence. After 4 months here, he's getting A's and actually enjoys solving problems now. The change in his attitude toward learning has been the biggest win."

Priya M.

Parent, Bangalore

680 → 750 SAT

"I was stuck at 680 on SAT Math for almost a year. Tried everything. Here they actually showed me how to think through problems instead of just memorizing formulas. Got 750 on my next attempt."

Caleb

12th Grade, Boston

Finally gets physics

"The visualizations make physics actually make sense. I used to just memorize equations but now I understand why things work. My test scores went up but more importantly I actually enjoy the subject now."

Sofia

10th Grade, Texas

Ahead of class

"Was always 'okay' at math, nothing special. Started working ahead of my class and now I'm comfortable with concepts my classmates haven't seen yet. It's nice not feeling stressed about math anymore."

Ananya

7th Grade, Bangalore

Confidence boost

"My daughter went from dreading homework to actually asking to do extra problems. As a parent, seeing her confidence grow has been incredible. She's not afraid of hard problems anymore."

Rajesh K.

Parent, Mumbai

70s → 90s

"I always thought I was 'bad at math.' Turns out I just had gaps in my foundation that nobody caught. Once those were fixed, everything started clicking. Went from 70s to consistent 90s."

Emily

8th Grade, New York

Right pace for me

"The personalized pace is what made the difference. In school I was either bored or lost. Here I move at exactly the speed I need. Finally feel like I'm actually learning, not just keeping up."

Arjun

9th Grade, Delhi

Understanding > memorizing

"Chemistry was my worst subject. I'd memorize for tests and forget everything after. Now I actually understand reactions and can predict what will happen. My grades improved but the understanding is what I'm most proud of."

Vedant

11th Grade, Pune

Learns to think

"What I appreciate most is they don't just give answers. They ask questions that make you figure it out yourself. It's frustrating sometimes but I actually remember things now because I worked through them."

Isha

8th Grade, Chennai
